Ochiltree is set to receive another wind farm, Perryton Wind, consisting of 150 turbines. Perryton Wind will bring $64 million to the county, which will be put to good use.
Earl McKinley, Ochiltree County judge, commented on the new revenue that will be provided by Perryton Wind: "It's projected a million dollars a year for our school system, which is a substantial amount. Like all schools, they will be able to put it to good use."

Ochiltree is already home to a wind farm built by NextEra Energy that has generated $1 million, increasing the county's budget by 10%.
The wind industry is fairly new to Ochiltree County, but McKinley said it couldn't have come at a better time. "This could really take up some of the slack for what we're losing in evaluation on our oil and gas."
